When I visited Boson back in November, the view from my train window was just exquisite. Even though it's a short trip, it's always a treat.

My favorite lights
I really enjoyed the Christmas lights at Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle last year, so I was very pleased to see them come back again this year.

A gem in Washington Heights

During an event called the Open House New York weekend in October, we can visit places with architectural and design significances in the city that are not open to the public on the regular basis. Since I got off of my tour guide duty at St. Michael's Church much earlier than I expected, I decided to explore the city myself. One of the places that was on the OHNY's list was a gem in Washington Heights called Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church. When I set my foot in the chapel, I immediately got teary-eyed in awe. Their tour guide was incredibly nice and knowledgeable, I could just feel his love for this place. I look forward to taking advantage of the OHNY weekend next year as well. You never know what wonders you may discover.Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church

I heart Harlem, Part 2

This past Sunday, I stopped by at an event that's part of the city's "Harlem for the Holidays" project at the Hip Hop Culture Center. I did my share of supporting my neighborhood by eating practically every local delectable in sight. As I was stuffing my face with delicious sweet potato beignets, an amazing group of kids came on the stage to sing gospel music. Their energy was incredibly powerful, it gave me goosebumps. Harlem has always given me what I needed at the moment, whether it's a reminder to stay grateful or a kick in the butt. I would love to hear these kids perform live again.Harlem for the Holidays
